The Milwaukee Guitar Collective was established in 2019 by Mike Cudahy, Joe Gallenberger, and Jason Klagstad. Together, these three represent many decades of experience in buying and selling vintage instruments and they have been very generous and forthright in their support of fingerstyle guitar. A percentage of the sale of this aggregation of Leo Kottke’s guitars will go to support the Fingerstyle Guitar Program at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and other projects that directly support the continued renaissance of fingerstyle guitar. As part of this process, over the last few months nationally renowned luthier Denny Rauen has been restoring some of the more road-worn guitars while Milwaukee Guitar Collective has been photographing them, drafting comprehensive bench test reports, and obtaining certificates of authenticity for the next owner of each instrument. Once fully documented and returned to prime playability, most of these guitars will be posted on the Milwaukee Guitar Collective reverb.com shop. For those of you who may have an interest in getting a preview of detailed information and purchasing one of these guitars, please email [email protected] or call Joe Gallenberger at 414-897-7870. Additionally, if you would like to sell an instrument, Milwaukee Guitar Collective will also contribute a portion of what would normally be their commission. Just contact Joe Gallenberger at 414-897-7870 if you have an instrument you want to sell. I am very grateful for the support of the Milwaukee Guitar Collective. Their generosity benefits both the regional and global fingerstyle communities. Leo Kottke/6- and 12-String Guitar Work on the book Leo Kottke/6- and 12-String Guitar continues apace. This book will include detailed transcriptions of all the compositions on Kottke’s seminal recording along with essays and other materials illuminating the context of its release. Recent interviews with some of the principals in the early years of Takoma Records have shed new light on the genesis and significance of Takoma’s best-selling recording. The Music of Leo Kottke 2020 Workshop The Music of Leo Kottke 2019 Workshop in Ellensburg, Washington last September was a great success; the interest and enthusiasm of students was palpable and Leo Kottke’s concert on the last night was a magnificent culmination. With the support of Learn from the Masters Music Outreach, a music philanthropy organization, the workshop was able to realize many of its longstanding aspirations. We look forward to announcing the details of the 2020 Workshop soon. I’ll keep you posted. Obviously provenance is being marketed here but Leo Kottke fans out there are probably looking to do the same thing he's doing, being of similar vintage.

If 41 is only "some of his extras", I wonder how many he has in total.

Question. Are they 'used' instruments?

Leo had given up 12 String until he encountered the Taylors.

What a curious question. Why would you think they might not be?
