They sound wonderful - love the cypress (of course the great playing doesn’t hurt ;-)

Monterey cypress is Cupressus macrocarpa, native to Central California. Not super tall (around 60 feet), develops a flat top. Port Orford is Chamaecyparis lawsoniana, tall and straight tree that gets about 80-150 feet tall. Used to be an important timber tree, but got clobbered by a root fungus. |

Michael, you did some wonderful playing on the Oak and Cypress. I am happy to put a link to this thread in mine so people can hear the guitar. So I have lived with this guitar for a week and this guitar is so nice to play. I have two oak guitars, this one and a Brentrup GA. This oak is much denser that new Oak but has some of the same properties. There is good sustain but not a lot of overtones like you would find in rosewood. the cypress top was a nice surprise. I expected a top that would sound and play a lot like Cedar but Cypress is a totally different animal. It has a nice warm sound with plenty of headroom. You can dig into this guitar and pick hard or lighten up and the top responds accordingly. It is dynamic and responsive. This was a nice surprise. I took a leap of faith when I chose Rosie to create this guitar. I new I wanted a Fenland Oak guitar but were not sold on the Lowdens and Avalons on the market at the time. Rosie was easy to work with and I would highly recommend her if you are considering a build.
