I bent the skinny piece in the previous post into a loop and here you see it dry fit into 2/3 of the rosette cavity. It is a real wrestling match now, and will be more difficult with HHG smearing it up.

Bob, I really love your guitar. It's a real looker and I'm sure its sounds fantastic. I traded with an AGF member for a Kerala Mini-Dred in Braziian/Adi about 6 months ago. It is a very intimate guitar that I'm quite smitten with. That combined with my call with you about your builds from Bruce led to my decision to commission this L-00 P. I'm enjoying the process with Bruce and I'm quite certain I'm going to love the finished product.

This guitar's specifications sounds similar to the guitar that you built for me 5+ years ago (L00, Martin Guhl German Spruce top / Pernambuco B&S, JB/2 1/4" multi-scale, 13-frets to the body). I believe that mine was your first L00 and this is now the 10th. I hope Rob loves his as much as I love mine... These photos are from when Bruce first made it and the Pernambuco has taken on a bit darker brick-like hues to its color as it has oxidized over the years.

I hope to hear these two guitars in the same time/space sometime.

Here's what the finished rosette looks like:

I imagine it will be considerably more vivid under finish.

As another Sexauer owner, I can also attest to the sound of his guitars, they have such a sweet smooth tone, beautiful balance is how I would summarize and finally, his set-ups are perfect for me, everyone I played in his shop and my own play like butter (not that I play with butter that much, once in a while maybe!).

Here is the back with the D. camatillo backstrip and maple purflings. The first two shots are in direct sun and the third is shop lighting.

I put the top braces in in 3 tiers to give myself a better chance of approaching the structural abyss. Here is the 2nd tier in the goober deck:

The FT-16C (Penngrove) I made for B.I.G.er, and LaConner if it makes it that far, is complete, and I have been playing it for a few days. If I were only able to bring one guitar, and folks were feeling judgmental, this one will make me look pretty good, I think.

Step it up, folks, it looks like I'm posting faster than you're reading.

Here's the completely braced top for the L00:

Take a real look, my bracing is a bit different than the "others".

You're too funny, that cracked me up. Or maybe I'm just easily entertained.

Great builds you've been posting, thanks.

I am here, I am following, I am reading, sometimes do not have time to comment, but you have not lost me yet! I love the woods on the B.I.G. er guitar especially the back and headstock!

The headstock faces were chosen to match the back, but interestingly (perhaps) they are MadRose rather than D. tucurensis.

I am here watching, reading and following also. Love the Penngrove but my real focus and attention is on the new L-00

My glib comment came out of posting three times w/o a readership comment. My friend Ben Wilborn pointed out to me the other day that he barely participates in his threads compared to myself. I looked, and it is true. Mind you, from the outset my intention has been to share my process, and that would be a challenge if I did not pretty much constantly offer the goods.

Speaking of process and "the goods", here are the completed braces on the back of the L00:

Not wanting to keep you wondering if we are reading, I will post here my impressions. This OO Pernambuco back set is the nicest I’ve seen to my eye, and the top seems well matched. While you call the rosette plain, it’s simplicity and proportions are very appealing. If you continue this theme throughout the purfling and binding, while understated, I think the aesthetics for this guitar will be very pleasing indeed. Seeing your process pic of the rosette, made my fingers ache at the thought of bending the wood strips while keeping them all aligned and falling into the correct place ... lol
