"Hillbilly Elegy" by J.D. Vance.

I'm half hillbilly myself, as my mother was born and raised in Logan, WV, so I can relate. She had a hard life as a kid.

We are thinking about a vacation in Europe next year, so I'm reading and studying Rick Steves guide books. Lots to think about.

That’s a good read! I was skeptical when it was recommended, but it’s entirely engaging. Hard to put down.
I’d be interested in your thoughts once you’ve finished the book.

Lucky Man, the autobiography of Greg Lake. Great read with insights into his time with several great bands

'Moi Vospominania' by Georgii Zhukov. I reread the part about the night of 21/22 June 1941 every year about this time of the summer.

After watching the series on SyFy, I have been reading 'The Expanse' novels.

Interesting to see how the series mapped the first three books, and the liberties taken with some of the characters and timeline. All in all, the gist of the books were captured by the series.

Just finished the fourth book, and it was quite the treat not knowing the story as I read it.

Will start reading number five this evening.

Sounds interesting as I was speaking with a guy from WV and his life growing up there. A different world that most of us don't hear about.

Another Horatio fan here! I own the series and have read through it 3-4 times.

The Vampire Next Door . The true story of the vampire rapist . J T Hunter
I have met his sister , wife and son . His sister is the one that saved my life . This is why I am reading it . A truly sad story and a horrible waste of human life .
I would say that this account is about 98% accurate .

I just finished Doctor Sleep by Stephen King. It's part II of the Shining when the little boy who said "redrum" is an adult. Excellent book.

Just started this one today. It's a long one:

The life story of William the Silent from the 1500s. It's about the history of the Netherlands. Really.
