Eastman AC822CE-FF Fan Fret with Fishman Preamp -SOLD
Hi everyone, I'm offering for sale an Eastman fan fret AC822CE-FF. These instruments were designed in conjunction with Italian luthier Fabio Ragghianti. I'm mainly a nylon string player and every once in a while I crave to reconnect with a steel string guitar but once I have one in my hands I'm never quite sure what to do. I took actual measurements, they vary slightly from what's published, although very close. I'm better with mm so where appropriate that's the close measurement.
-Lower bout width: 15 7/8" -Depth at heel: 3 11/16" (94mm) -Depth at tail: 4 3/8" (111mm) -Width at nut: 45mm (slightly over 1 3/4") -Scale 24.75" - 25.5" -String spacing at saddle 55-56mm -Fan Fret -Sound port -Fishman pickup with preamp, volume and tone controls. -Original arched top hard case EEC6D720-5383-4F2E-A18E-886BA6033B80_1_105_c.jpgC6B724B6-B07D-469C-A5C2-990B4DC348CE_1_105_c.jpg The guitar is in very good - excellent condition, with a small lacquer check in the top by the cutaway and more extensive checking on the back toward the tail. Outside of these, it is very clean. The label was loose and had come off, but it is included and preserved between wax paper and two pieces of card stock. I personally like it better this way anyway, as the label was hiding the "Eastman" logo branded into the back strip which is now visible. 2B879E9D-1FED-4ED0-9372-01131556785F_1_105_c.jpgD4542C85-CD7B-4708-834F-E0EC7B852F06_1_105_c.jpg23513B9D-A2B2-47F0-82D0-E846B7ADACFA_1_105_c.jpg This is a great guitar, must be one of the nicest in the price range, not to mention the pickup, sound port, and fanned frets. The woods are also not just all solid, but nice pieces. The rosewood on the back especially is striking to me, with nice variation in color. 0CCF9985-87AA-44F9-823F-672D59718452_1_105_c.jpg48B26E5C-073A-40C3-A5BF-ECA19696B333_1_105_c.jpg94BFC11F-D778-40DA-BBF5-290E9EAA2B7A_1_105_c.jpg Action is on the lower side of 5/64" to 4/64". The set up feels good for me, but again I'm so much more used to nylon strings. I made a quick video to hopefully demonstrate that it's playing cleanly. The link is here. Otherwise I will hang on to it and take my time on it through the other sites. It is after all a very nice instrument. Thanks for looking and any questions please let me know! I love my lowden fan fret! Not only great sounding but easier to play. Hands are more naturally at those angles...

Adapting is not that difficult
I have owned and played a fan fret. I hesitated at first because I wasn't sure I could adapt to the change, but my fears proved to be unfounded. The different fret pattern felt very comfortable to me. Just sayin' ...........

I owned an Eastman AC822CE, not fan fret, otherwise the same guitar. Had to sell it. Wow, absolutely the most beautiful guitar I've ever held, seen or played. You should raise your price.

Thanks all for the fan fret love!
And I hear you, calstang66, I thought it's a pretty good deal. Bump from page 2. Also, ad was just updated to reflect that the pickup is actually a Fishman, not a Baggs. Last edited by DLQ; 02-25-2020 at 12:33 PM. |
