I love it! I used nail polish on my graphing calculators for ID purposes.

That doesn't surprise me. I suspect cables in that environment get fairly rough treatment. That's where I'd spend money on higher-quality cables.

+1 for YamahaGuy’s recommendations ... Mogadishu cable + neutrik silent ends .... last set of brand name cables i bought were Lava cables and that was 10 years ago ... solid

I just tossed a whole bunch of George Ls into the garbage after fighting with them for years ... most unreliable cable I’ve ever used.

+1 Mogadishu cable + neutrik silent ends. Not only can you be sure that they are carefully made (if you are careful when you make them) but you can fix them after a kick-out or full body cable trip on stage. And there is real satisfaction in quality parts.

Yes I have been doing just that for years.

Way back when the internet was in it's early stages every sun microsystems computer came with a 50 foot high quality coax cable. It was not used and tossed in the dumpster. I cut them up and with Switchcraft ends made many cables for my musician friends.

Soldering is not hard to master and is a good skill to have.

Mogami cables are available at any Guitar Center and can be exchanged for a new one there if any problems develop.

Do you gig regularly and really need to depend on them? D'Addario/Planet Waves American Stage series. Aforementioned Neutrik ends, heavy rubber jacketed cable, fusion soldered. Not cheap, USA. Mine have been coiled and uncoiled, stepped on, etc. twice a week for years.

I use Yorkville's Studio One cables and they're sold at Long & McQuade's. Made in Canada. Limited lifetime warranty. If it doesn't work just take it to L&M and exchange it for another. No receipt required. I've had mine for about 10 years.

^^^^ this. I have a 40+ year old guitar cable that a long ago sound man made for me. I've replaced the ends to improve on the quality of the connections but the cable is still going strong.

Parts Express is where it's at for stuff like that.

I was really hoping you would say, "I've changed the plugs a few times and the cable now and again but the lead is still going strong".

But you were much more sensible.
