Default Should action be even up and down the neck

I just bought a new Eastman e10-om and the action is much lower frets 1-5 and then gradually gets higher as you move up the neck. Is this normal? I'm wondering if the nut is cut too low. The action measure is good at the 12th fret = about 6/64 on bass and 4-5/64 on treble. I tried to photograph but it's too hard to get a good picture.

awesome! thank you. I just returned a Martin 000-18 for this. It definitely does not sound quite as good, but it's also nowhere near 1/2 as good as the price would dictate. amazing value overall.
