NFSMD! (New Fender StringMaster Day)
New Fender StringMaster day!
Brought this 1960 Fender StringMaster home today. Two 8 string necks and tone tone TONE! Took a buddy from out of town to visit Carter's Vintage Guitars in Nashville today. I left the store with this guitar. I've been looking and saving up for one for quite awhile and this one just found me. Last edited by 815C; 02-04-2016 at 08:57 PM. |

It's surprising that so many folks don't know it, but the tele wasn't Leo's first commercially available guitar
That guitar is totally Bad-Donkey!!!! I'm strictly 6 string in both acoustic and electric Lap, so the possibilities in your new guitar blow my mind!

Right now I have neck #1 tuned to C6 and neck #2 to E13 and it's so fun to jump back and forth between them in the mid-song and get totally different vibes from the different tunings.

Congratulations, David! The triple 8 Stringmaster I acquired in 1976 was my ticket to playing for (not very much) money in 1978. As you're discovering, the form-follows-function elegance of the Stringmaster makes it one of the most expressive instruments ever made.
