I dislike the ergonmics and don't own a Gibson. I like the tone and have a Giffin T Deluxe on order that should look like this. The PRS 594 is 95% of what I'd like, but I prefer a 12" or flatter radius.

I always wanted a Les Paul since the early 70’s. At that time the production reissues didn’t exist.
First bought a ‘74 Deluxe LP, currently have a ‘59 Reissue from about 15 years ago.
Although I mainly play Strats, nothing sounds as fat as a Les Paul!

I know a couple of players with '59 Reissue LPs -- really amazing guitars!

Congrats!

I own a Les Paul, a very nice American Standard with a AAA flamed top in heritage cherry sunburst. It's a beautiful guitar, but I have never taken to it. It doesn't really fit the way I play very well. I find my ES-335 fits my style of play so much better.

I should really sell this guitar.

Well, my cross continent friend, I recommend playing what sounds to be a stunning Lester American Standard, seated with a well adjusted strap on. You’ll be amazed how willing an accomplice your LesPaul will feel set up like that, Willow
Hope this finds you and yours well!
All the best,
frank d.

Thanks! I think it is at least 3 or 4 generations behind the latest most authentic version that Gibson is currently making.
But the top is a very nice flame chevron!

I am in the boat where I've always wanted an LP and finally got around to getting one, I'm picking it up in a couple days time. It's an LP classic in Ebony black with Zebra burstbucker pups not sure of the year model but I think it might be 2019. Absolutely gorgeous looking guitar and very resonant sounding. bright but very warm at the same time its kinda tricky to explain the sound. Yes it's heavy in comparison to a strat but when you're talking about a solid chunk of mahogany that's something you have to expect. overall, cannot wait to get this guitar home and stand it next to my strat. I'll have the two American Icons =P

Always wanted a Les Paul, bought one, was disappointed in its weight and its sound, which I found undistinguished. So I sold it and bought a Telecaster, which I found too shrill so I sold it and bought a vintage Gretsch 6120 Nashville and now I am happy...

I have a Les Paul Tribute… a lot of guitar for a grand! I suppose everyone can easily justify three electrics? An LP style, a single coil fender style, and a Setzer Gretsch!

Played in a working band beginning in 78. Couldn't afford a Les Paul, though that's the sound that was in my head.

Played the first G&L's for years F-100's, then Comanche VI, and S-500's

Trying to get That tone bought a Peavey EVH Wolfgang. (NO CIGAR)

Had a Les Paul Custom in the 90's. Loved the tone, not so much the weight.

2005 got my first Standard. Never looked back. Have had many since.

My No. 1 being a 2006 Standard for years. Just picked up a 2022 60's Standard. Full humbuckers, no coil splits.

I can play a whole gig with a Les Paul and be very happy with the tone.

Single coil stuff, not so much.

I can only use a strat/tele for so many tunes, then I need to switch out.

But I can bring one Les Paul, and not swap out a guitar for an entire night.
The weight becomes a problem after about 30 minutes,.. but by then, it's almost time for a break.

I love les pauls, I love everything about them. I'll deal with the weight

For me, they are just the thing!

Oddly enough, I've got a Tele with humbuckers and a Les Paul with single coils... and either one of those guitars can pull off almost anything.
