I’ve got one. It works perfectly. One USB slot is permanently hot, the other is on/off selectable by the foot switch.

If you keep your board in a case you’ll need to unplug the light or cord when you pack up. I had a short second charging cord for a old iPhone (being used as a gig clock) and it bent the cord enough to break it over time.

I *just* finished wiring up my new board, and I rushed right over here to share it. I'm pretty stoked!

The board is the On Stage GPB2000. It's 18.75" x 6", made of very sturdy aluminum, holds the pedals so that they are angled toward the player, and comes with a nice gig bag. It's less expensive than Pedaltrain's flat box of square tubes, and I actually like it better. https://on-stage.com/products/view/12943

Cables are Lava Cables Tightrope solderless. Speaking of which, I know these are very popular cables for connecting pedals, and I often see questions about how to measure when you're building them. Here you go: you need 1.5 inches (38mm) extra for *each* end of the cable. So if you want your finished cable to measure 6 inches (plug center-to-center), cut a 9-inch piece to start with.

I finally built a pedalboard just for solo gigs where I'm only playing guitar. Took it out for a spin last night. Not pictured: Allen & Heath ZED6fx.

That looks immaculate. Does your ZED have a hi-z input?

Yep! Right out of the tuner into channel one, a *tiny* amount of reverb on guitar and a little dust on the vocals and then out to a QSC K8, which was sitting on a piano right next to me last night. This tuner is replacing a Venue, which, while it gave me a little more gain, drove me nuts with its finicky tuner.

Depending on the season, about half the jobs I play are solo and the rest are a mixture of multi-instrumentalist things where I bring a much larger sub-mixing rig (and a pile of instruments).

Default DC jack wiring questions

So I'm building my pedalboard. Its rough... I only have hand tools and I'm not very skilled. But it will work.

I have two types of DC power jacks for connecting remote items to the under board mounted power supply. Which type is better for this use - the metal or black plastic jack, or does it matter?

Next question is how to wire them. The male jacks have three prongs, one of which I assume is a ground, but the female wired jacks I bought that will plug into the power supply have only a black and red wire. I labeled the prongs on each as #1,2,3. Can you tell me where to connect the wires on either jack? I do have a cheapo soldering gun, flux and solder.

They're going to be mounted with these metal blue painted plates I made.

Default ACOUSTIC PEDALBOARDS - Post yours!!

Pulled my board apart last weekend - rewired, re tie-wrapped All the cables and upgraded the mixer. My last step is to find a new looper and ditch the VL3IMG_9836.jpgIMG_9835.jpgIMG_9837.jpg
