Default Joni 75 on PBS Great Performances

Highlights from the 75th birthday celebration concerts. It's only an hour long, but wow. So far James Taylor, imo, has the weakest performance. Rufus Wainwright and Emmy Lou Harris, and watching Los Lobos... Wow, just wow.

You must be talking about Joni Mitchell right?
She always put such amazing bands together.

This was great in theaters when it showed on the one night. Not sure if the PBS showed it in that hour, but, SEAL performed Both Sides Now.........incredible.
Also, a very poignant Kris Kristofferson who is helped by Brandi Carlisle in a very touching moment not to be missed.
Glad PBS is carrying this!!!

Amazon has a DVD too available on 3/29. Hopefully it is of the whole concert. Just wish it was Blue ray.

My favorite performances from that show were Seal and Kris Kristofferson with Brandi Carlile. As I understand it, Kris is suffering from Lyme Disease-related dementia but his voice was so strong and it was great to see him up there doing what he is great at.

I have the CD and am waiting for the DVD to be delivered. Definitely a show worth checking out.

Best,
Jayne

I have it on my DVR. I've only watched parts of it so far, but watched the Emmy Lou Harris "Magdalene Laundries" performance with Scarlet Rivera on violin twice. Her version of that song is always so moving.

And yes, I agree the Brandi Carlile/Kris Kristopherson segment was also touching.
