A Little Novelty...
My fave band put in a request which I felt compelled to oblige. It was all fun til the neck, which I had to rebuild during an all nighter to make deadline, turns out they’re a real...job.
But, the results were most satisfying. It is the most pleasant sounding mando I’ve ever heard IRL, though every other one has been cheap crap, so... Anyway... |

Cool. I picked up a cheap mandolin just to have an example of the dimensions in order to build one.

Great looking mando Ed, Id love to play it. Im glad you are expanding your line of products. Thanks for sharing it. I didnt see a materials but Im guessing walnut/cedar with a mahogany neck, or is that just a dark spruce.

It’s torrefied lutz/walnut, made from leftover wood from the guitars I made for the singer of the band...
Fred, I got The Mandolin Project book by Graham Macdonald, it was quite useful...I think if you buy it directly from his site, it comes with full scale plans... |

Looks great Ed. That's rough doing an all-nighter!

Thanks! All-nighters aren’t that much fun anymore, but I was determined to get it done in time to hand deliver before the gig...
