I emailed with him a week or so ago. He’s on the fence. He said he’d probably start with some furniture and then see.

Losing an entire shop and wood stock is heart breaking. We’d all love to see him get back in the game, I think.

Howard and I are friends outside the forum and even lutherie itself. He is struggling with adjusting to what amounts to to a whole new life, as he did literally escape the burden of over 99% of his worldly possessions. I do not think he is quite ready to become a monk, however, and will almost definitely return to woodwork, and some of that may be lutherie. I hope so, as he was just hitting his stride with the guitars, and it would be great to see where he would take it; probably to an unexpected place.
