Tried a couple - sounded thin and one-dimensional...

If you're after the "Guild 12-String Tone" and can't afford a USA instrument, save up a few extra bucks and get a D-1212 - as many happy owners here on the AGF will attest...

YMMV...

I don't own nor have I played a Guild F2512, myself.
However, the SDOTD did tempt me for a moment.
Every once in a while, the thought of a 12 string does. Esp. an affordable new one with decent neck set.
And, my 17 year old son has a Guild OMC240 Charcoal that sounds and looks great...Guild archback design as well.

Sweetwater has the natural finish version on sale at the same price.
Link to reviews, here : https://www.sweetwater.com/store/det...blonde/reviews

That being said, a forum member's review with personal playing experience sure counts.

I have no skin in the game. Just posting it for any interested parties.
Someone please report back in if you order one.

I played a similar model today at a Guitar Center store. I think it was the non-cutaway model. I was very disappointed in it. I've owned two U.S.A.-made models, a D-25 and a D-55 ... and of course different types of guitars but overall I just wasn't a fan of the sound of this guitar.

Go to the search function and type in "Guild D-1212" to read some of the glowing hands-on reviews from your fellow Forumites - small wonder it's been nicknamed "The Unofficial AGF 12-String Guitar" - and next time you're tempted:
