** SOLD ** 2005 Martin D-28 Marquis 1935 Burst (Ser# 10613XX) ** SOLD **

Offering for sale one of the best Martins I have ever owned -- probably in the top 3. Purchased at the Philly Expo in 2019, it was the standout guitar for me among a sea of really nice stuff including modern and vintage pieces that I played over the two day show.

Many on the forum know how tough of a grader I am with my guitars, and I'm rating this one an 8.8 - 8.9 out of 10 condition. A beautiful guitar that has various assorted light marks and impressions from 15 years of regular play, which can be seen in the attached photos. There is very modest fret wear under the B string, 1st 4 frets. OHSC is in 8.5 / 10 condition with one broken latch in the back.

Shortly after purchase, I polished the headstock and aligned the tuner bushings. I also had the bridge pin holes filled and re-drilled to neutralize some bridge plate wear, and the bridge slotted and re-ramped -- that work was done by Brothers Music in Wind Gap, PA. The guitar now sports all-solid Ebony pins. It is wide open, loud as all get out, plays easy with Mediums, and absolutely glorious sounding!

This would not be for sale, but for its increasingly uncomfortable and fairly pronounced Mod-V neck. I tolerated it for a long time, but it is no longer ideal for my hand and I have plenty of alternatives.

Key Specs:

• Adi over EIR, with Ebony fingerboard / bridge / all-solid pins.
• Heavily scalloped Adi GE bracing, small maple bridge plate.
• 1 3/4 nut, 2 5/16 string spacing, Mod-V neck.
• Fully adjustable truss rod.
• Bone nut, glued-in Long bone saddle (beautiful neck set, tons of saddle).
• 6/64, 4/64 setup with 0.007" relief; strung with MA550FX (Flex Core 13 - 56s).
