Great work with so many tiny pieces!
Indeed! I wonder if Tom also does his by hand or if it's CNC, this micro purflings he does are just unreal! The one Bobby Swanson (or SuperB23 on here) had done on his Mod D from Tom was quite exquisite and very similar. Marc is very much a traditionalist and said he was happy with the method he came up with to do this so it should be a much more frequent occurrence in his builds!

I'm very happy with it! Wasn't expecting Wenge but Marc mentioned the grain line being so dramatic would help since they criss-cross.

I look forward to seeing more of them! I can't believe his first hack at it he decided to go with Wenge, I've heard it's a real pain to work with... but I guess with enough experience you decide whether or not certain customer requests are a burden or an opportunity...super happy with what he did!

Nice, you must really love soundports with your playing style. You play with such nuance and dynamics that I would think it would help you to hear those subtleties more easily.

Absolutely, it creates a much more ‘complete’ experience to playing, everytime. I do occasionally use the cover just to change things up or when I play live.

My last album I used a Euro/Blackwood Beneteau for 7 of the 10 tunes, its a killer combo! I love the dark look of it too...Suspect this may be even better with the fanfret.

Fantastic! Cannot wait to hear you play it.

Your posts about how much you like Beneteau's led to me discovering a 2004 Beneteau 0-12 Parlor (spruce/'hog) that I bought in December. I will be receiving it later this week. You're an enabler! ;-)

Enjoy! I haven't played a Beneteau I didn't absolutely love. He's been building since the early 80s and even the early ones are awesome!

This one is going to be a winner Dustin, I'm excited for you!! African Blackwood is one of those woods I'd really like to get into my collection of guitars again!

My mom read in her diary when I turned 5 they brought me to Toys R Us to buy a guitar with my birthday money, I told my parents that none of the guitars had the right sound and I didn't want any of them.

Dustin - I'm behind on this one but just wanted to drop in and say congrats on an epic looking build! As you know, I had originally planned for my SJ to be a fanfret but it didn't pan out. I would have chosen the same spread as you've chosen. Loving everything about this build! Can't wait to see it come together, and more importantly, hear what you do with it
