I did exactly that in 1973 when I bought my first guitar, and Ovation Folklore. Haven’t smoked since. Still have that guitar too.

I’m a smoker and I own two, that’s right count em two guitars. Also a banjo a wash board, a broken trumpet, a violin that’s a piece of junk and a ukulele for some reason.
Shoot for the stars kids. If you get half way there you’re doing ok.

What a great post. I just did a quick calculation based on my quitting eight years ago, one pack a day with an average cost of $7 per. $35,560... That doesn’t take into account the late night studio two or three pack habit several times a week.... or the fact that I was an English major....

You can play professionally if you take lessons, and if the teacher accepts cigarettes as payment, all the better.
