I would expect them to be very nice guitars.

Possibly as good as an oldie FG that has been set up well that has a good pickup like a Schatten HFN.

Do a search; there are a couple of threads on these already. They certainly look interesting and I'm a big fan of Yamaha.

I like the way Yamaha describes mahogany having slower response and more bloom; I haven’t read that from any other manufacturer but it describes what I’ve been hearing from the spruce mahogany pairing.

Made in Japan, 25” scale coupled with treated sitka should make for rich sound. I wonder how widely available these will be; seems like it follows on the success of the FG180 50th anniversary edition.

Yes, and hopefully they will be a regular production item, unlike the very limited (180 guitars, total), 50th Anniversary FG180 (which was an FG180 in name only!).

I'd expect these to be nice guitars as well. The four highest-end models are made in Japan too. I'd be curious what the street price is on these?

Check MF, GC or SW. They offer pre-order on them and have prices.

I just preordered the FGX5 for $1399.
