Default Looking for a nice practice chair that won’t break the bank

I’m looking for a good practice chair at a reasonable price. Doesn’t have to be made FOR guitar practice. As long as it’s comfortable to play for several hours and it has back support, should be good.

I have one of these in quarter sawn white oak that I find comfy for practicing on:

Got mine from a local area dealer.

Don't overthink it. These are two for $89 at Walmart. They also sell pads if the stock bottom appears uncomfortable for your stock bottom. I'm sure you could find something cheaper and equally serviceable on Craigslist or Facebook Marketplace. Just don't get anything with arms...

I have a friend who has one of these and she loves it. I have sat and played guitar in it and it is very comfortable.

I've found happiness with an armless office chair. Well cushioned, adjustable seat height and angle, adjustable back angle, it swivels so I can easily grab stuff to my right or left, and on wheels so I can...okay, you get the idea.

If you don't lean back (and you probably shouldn't when playing guitar) then you might try a drum throne.

They are comfortable to sit on and you can adjust the height. Simple ones can be inexpensive ($60) and they are quite portable.

For more money you can have a back (usually sold as an add-on), a swiveling seat, and a lever to adjust the hight.

I invested in a really nice one from roc-n-soc. I love it but that is a more expensive option.

I always recommend the Mitylite FlexOne:

https://mitylite.com/products/flexone-cs-folding-chair

Also available in a padded seat version, but not really necessary.

There's a lower priced knock-off of the Flexone available, too. I recently saw them t Home Depot.

I got a nice little chair from Costco recently, which I think I learned about here on the forum. Doesn't look like they have it in stock anymore, but I found this on a real quick search that looked kind of interesting if you like the height:

The one I got from Coscto looked more like this:

Pete,
I got that exact one from Costco. Durable, comfy, and adjustable height.

I played on straight back wooden chairs for a long time, but I seem to throw my body around while playing and so each chair eventually broke down. I also realized I didn't need the back. So now my practice "chair" is a folding keyboard bench like this:
http://on-stage.com/products/view/10507/471150

It's somewhat adjustable for height, but it is very stable and the real payoff is the generous padding. Oh and it also folds up so I can take it on vacation.

For me, a 24" stool with rail or crossbar as a footrest works best.

Mine is somewhat similar to this:

Default Look for flip up arms...

I use something like this, though not so fancy. It's as comfortable as any other chair, but the arms can be moved out of the way easily.

I bought a Windsor back chair a few years back for $39. Works great.

What ever you do don’t get a Gator Framework guitar seat. It is horribly uncomfortable

I have a chair from Office Depot that is made to be a high back office chair with arms. The arms flip up out of the way. The seat is very comfortable. It tilts if you want and swivels plus has wheels for the feet. It was fairly inexpensive considering its a nice chair for office with the arms down or practicing guitar with them up.
