I live near the Gulf coast. Like two miles away. While Florida and running central A.C. all the time, humidity indoors is often 60-70%. Got a dehumidifier about a year and a half ago during the winter because carpets got wet and would never dry. Now I run the thing all the time, winter and summer, to try to get humidity down to 45-50% for my guitars. I never worried about humidity before, but could explain why some days playing seemed so uninspiring before I got the thing..

It's a Gulf Coast thing, but no one needs case humidifiers here.

It's humid here in the summer and the ocean is 400 feet away in my backyard. A standard humidifier works fine in my guitar room.

jklotz, put the turbo on when you need it otherwise you're fine.
