Fishman LB Mini question
Has anyone ever tried to run a magnetic pickup on guitar into channel 1, then run a decent mic on the guitar into channel 2? So basically the guitar sound is being reproduced two different ways? Or am I crazy?
Any opinions are welcome. |

Yes I’ve tried it with a SM57 into the mic channel. Works well.

Thank you! I'm going to give it a shot tonight after work. The current UST in the guitar is driving me nuts

While not an external mic or the LB mini, I used to run a Fishman Rare Earth Mic Blend with a TRS cable to both channels on on a Loud Box Artist (1 for Mag, 2 for the bendy mic inside).
Worked very well. I would say it would work well with an external mic too. |

Sometimes in the past when I’d record into my Scarlet Focusrite I’d have one channel be my pickup and the other be a condenser mic on the guitar.
Post prod the blending made for a great reproduction.

A mic certainly sounds different than a pickup. I'm sure lots of people do it.
