It's the camera angle (perspective). On screen, the headstock from nut to tip is almost the same dimension as the body to the base of the cutaway. I can assure you that an X20 is NOT like that in real life. The X20 is a Grand Auditorium / 000 sized guitar.

Amicus looks interesting, for sure. It uses regular ole 12 string guitar set of strings?

No, it's not tuned in octaves like a 12-string. Each pair is unison - the factory gauges are .042, .029, .020, .015, .011, .0085, tuned D-G-C-F-A-D.

Also responding to David's post...

Here I thought maybe Emerald had hired a pro basketball player to pose with the X20 to highlight the comfortable size.

Thanks for posting the video. It reminds me of how much I love my own Thalia capo. An Amicus would cool to own except that I’m not big on 12 strings, plus I have large hands and would prefer to have an Amicus tuned in D and then capoed at the second fret in order to play nice with others(making large hands even more of a liability). I do love the sound, however. Metaphorically speaking, it’s like the sound of delicate crystal being ever so gently and lovingly stroked. Quite amiable and amicable, you might say.

I should add to the conversation that I am not lusting after an Amicus, but would seriously consider purchasing a CD of instrumentals like those in the posted video showing the Amicus.

Tony, you should check out “Emeralds” by Tony Barnard and available on Bandcamp. It features the virtuosic Mr. Barnard playing a variety of Emeralds (of course!). You can listen to the whole album first before deciding on whether or not to buy it.
