Why I Bought a CF guitar...Outdoors gig in 90 degree high humidity environ.
Played an outdoor, online 1 1/2 hour online gig Saturday in the Mississippi heat and humidity. My Emerald sure helped get me through.
Nothing buy simple, mellow acoustic tunes but fun to be playing "live" again. https://www.facebook.com/1101256537/...2585033350153/

Thanks for posting this! Not only are you fantastic, but this is the single most useful playing video showing what an x20 sounds like in "real life". I'd love for more forum members to share similar videos!

Playing through a T-Rex Soulmate Acoustic, probably the best effects/EQ/tuner/ looper I have ever used. Also a TC Helicon harmonizer. Plugged into a Bose LC1.

Great set! I enjoyed your singing and playing, and the interaction with your audience.

My CF guitars have been played in everything from sub-freezing temps around an Alaskan campfire wearing gloves with the fingertips cut off, to 105° in the shade in the desert at festivals. Although a wood guitar (with some care) would basically be OK in any climate that I could survive, it is nice to not be concerned much about temp or humidity.

Nice!
I've never been able to get a decent plugged in sound from either of my Emeralds. One has a K&K, one has an LR Baggs Element, both of them don't work well when plugged in. Fortunately I don't play that many shows, so I just take one of my Taylors and they work fine. My Emeralds are great around the house, around a campfire, or when I'm traveling, but I kinda wish I could use them plugged in. Oh well. |

You can get a good sound. Not sure whet you are running them through but i know there are some preamps that will help you get a very decent sound. I am pleased with the live sound of my Emerald but it is not as good as my Martin Performing Artist with the Aura. What I am a bit surprised by are the number of comments by non-players about how cool the guitar looks (and sounds).

Excellent! I tried busking with my X20 in the heat a few years ago and had to grab some talc because my hand was sticking to the neck.
