I hated Behringer for two decades. They came to prominence by ripping off other companies designs.

As Br1ck mentioned, this was particularly egregious with Mackie. Living in the Puget Sound area, many of us knew Greg Mackie from his time at Tapco, and then were thrilled when he started Mackie (I even invested in them).

I hated the idea of ripping off intellectual property and sending the manufacturing to Asia, which was Behringer's business approach.
(Looking back, I am struck by my naivete!)

However - somewhere along the line, Behringer actually starting creating some of their own designs. Most of their stuff is NOT high end and NOT very road worthy, but it is no longer crappy, and is often a real bargain for what you get.
