Default Online lessons for theory and improvisation?

Apologies if this question has been asked many times in the past... Is anyone aware of high quality guitar lessons online that provide good theory and exercises for improvisation? I'd describe myself as an intermediate player, feeling a bit stuck in terms of moving forward. I live in a smallish city, and the live teachers I've found want to teach songs and specific genres rather than theory and improvisation. I haven't explored online options that much, but some of them seem pretty gimmicky. Can anyone offer recommendations? Thanks!-- Peter

I think Mark the guitar guy is a really good balance and a good teacher - you can reach him through his FB page - he teaches over Skype. I made a huge breakthrough with him this year. I hadn't realized how much I had improved with him. Got called up at a party and aced it. Cheers

You can check out Tony Polecastro at Tony’s Acoustic Challenge. He has a good way of taking you past the intermediate blues.

Default Thanks! (and keep 'em coming)

Thanks for all these great leads-- I'll definitely look into them.
Online seems like a huge breakthrough for those of us in smaller communities without a lot of variety in in-person teaching.
Again, thanks, and please keep sending any additional suggestions.

I could use these kinds of lessons as well. I wasn't familiar with him until this thread. Does he offer recorded lessons, too? . I'm afraid Skype lessons wouldn't work because of the time difference to the Western US.

Try him - the time difference actually probably works out quite well (it's harder with UK which is exactly 12 hours difference).
