Everything is alright as long as it stays "1 pieces" during the whole journey.

Yes, this would make for a very sad day:

Update a few mins ago: currently "with delivery courier". Looks like I'll be needing to get myself over to The North American Guitar HQ this afternoon!

So, this beauty is in a taxi from TNAG HQ heading to me as we speak...

And, in a cruel twist of fate, my wife is heading out the door for a charity run, back late this evening. So I'm looking after little Sophie. Solo. Very much a two handed job. So I'll just have to stare at this beautiful beast for a while once it gets in the door without being able to play it.

The suspense will surely kill me!

I played it for a moment before it went on its way...

It's sublime...

And here's the photo from Michael to prove that he did manage to let go of it...

Reckon it's within 15 mins now ... London rush hour traffic permitting!

Little Sophie is so excited she has passed out. Whilst strapped to me in a sling ... not desperately (well, really at all) conducive to guitar playing!

Well... it's here!

Let's see if we can drag this out a little further ....

When the Hoffee case arrived, it was so light compared to the OM in the Ameritage that I was starting to wonder whether there was anything in it.

Fortunately there was!

Looks absolutely stunning in person.

But sadly and most frustratingly,no chance to play it yet, due to being solely in charge on the little one who is asleep in the sling, strapped to me. Seems there's some serious competition for my affections... I sense this may be an on-going theme! This is torture!

I'm in the studio tomorrow, but will report back when I get the chance (though that may not be until the weekend at the earliest).

Yes, I'm afraid I've done what is know round here as "doing a Steve" - disappearing at the crucial moment after the minute by minute count down!

I've been in the studio for a few days (and am again today) so haven't had much time to gather thoughts (and not nearly as much time with #77 as I'd like, given that I've been recording on my Lowden baritone). But I will post my thoughts ... soon ... ish!

I should have a bit of time with it in August (though may not have internet). And eventually plan to do some videos and audio recordings.

In the meantime, here's the skinny: it looks incredible in person and plays superbly; amazing sustain and clarity; and tonally already starting to develop nicely, given that it's only been strung up for a matter of days. I have a good feeling about this one ... Thank you Jason!

Brief update: I've now recorded couple of tunes for my album on the MDC, and will be doing a couple more next week. I don't imagine they'll be much fit for public consumption for another 6-12 months, by the time it's edited, mixed, mastered, etc. But I'll try to post a short snippet once I have some preliminary unmixed edits back so you can hear the raw sound of the MD and the OM too.

I've had precious little (basically, no!) time to practice between sessions, much to my producer's (and my own) frustration, due to work and baby. So I've been doing most of my bonding with my MDC behind the mic with the red light on. So, no pressure!

But this thing is a wonderful beast. Amazing depth of tone, incredible bass, hugely responsive and resonant (and loud - and I have a very light right hand) - just amazing. Whilst we've not have much time together, it's clear that this is a stunning guitar and we're bonding quickly. It's encouraging me to be a better player, and to experiment more with different attacks and nuances, even in front of the mics! A most promising start to the relationship!
