Question What Do You Do With Your Foot?

I was wondering how many of you use a foot stool when you're sitting and playing?

Most of the time, I play sitting in my recliner, with my legs up, so "none of the above". I also play standing up, or sitting indian-style on my bed. The only time I sit correctly while playing guitar is during my guitar lessons, one hour a week (relaxed, no foot stool).

I perform standing, but I practice sitting on a wooden stool 24" tall and put my right foot on the top rung. Knee is a bit higher then to rest the guitar on. Left foot is flat on the floor.

Relaxed, right knee, no stool. With cold beer conveniently within easy grasp of right hand. After an hour or so of this position, I usually resort to the "Lying on the couch on my back" position. I find that this provides the maximum comfort, if not the best sound.

I use a strap and just let my feet move around. JW

When seated, I usually play with my left foot on the floor, surface of sole perpendicular to the floor, with my right foot on top of my left foot. Kinda odd, huh? So far, I'm the only person I've seen do it, but it feels comfortable to me.

If I am at home practicing I play in classical position and use a footstool (unless I'm playing the parlor guitar)
If I'm at church I play standing.
That footstool sure helps me maintain proper posture
