"if you had to, you would be okay with checking either case on an airplane? Both are supposed to be rugged, and if you couldn't get it on board…"
I've checked a nice dread many times on flights from San Francisco to London and back. Always use a HISCOX Pro II case, and always either gotten it onboard or gate checked (50% of the time each). Never had a problem, don't even have a scratch on the cases! I always fly United Airlines. My 2006 Guild D-55NT ready for it's flight from London Heathrow to San Francisco in it's HISCOX Pro II case: Here's my 2006 Martin HD-7 Roger McGuinn sig ready to make the same trip on a different day: The newspapers in the pics are from the day of the flight. Sort of a cheap insurance claim aide if needed. In short, get the HISCOX! Last edited by 6L6; 03-18-2015 at 06:49 PM. |

If you are looking at Carlton cases you could also have a look at Price Cases HERE, he is in Oklahoma and does fibreglass as well as Basalt (more cash for Basalt)

I’ve been very happy with a Karura. Very lightweight and sturdy.
