I own a '32 L1 - one of the last of the 12 fretters. And yeah, I am glad it still has its burst because it is drop dead gorgeous. My other old flattop Gibson is a '42 J50. Not many original parts left on it when I stumbled across the guitar many years ago. In fact other than the original logo, the Banner and the TRC pretty much all other parts that had been attached had been replaced. But what makes the guitar come alive was all there. The guitar comes off as the love child of a J35 and a J45 and I would not swap it for any other J45/50, no matter how original on the planet.

I think I preferred the way it looked in the "rattly bling" phase.Superglue is your friend.

I like your version. Lots of obvious life on it but it still looks nice.
