I know how my tastes and favors change over time, and I have learned to never say never ... however; I'm fairly certain the one guitar I will never sell is the only one I never play ... my dad's old Epihone dread ... MIK and just a dog of a thing ... but it was Dad's.
It stays.

I doubt I will sell mine. If I did I wouldn't have a guitar to play, and that wouldn't be good.

This bass has a very special place in my heart...and I really don't even play bass! Back in the early 90's I have found this perfectly flamed Ash Board. The flames(fiddle back) cross over the perfectly straight grain of the ash. My dear friend Michael Tobias made this One of a kind instrument. Unlike anything else he had ever made before. And this lovely guitar was made for me by my longtime friend Benny Rodriquez & Tom Anderson. And I really don't play Electric anymore either! Now this guitar I play all the time! My beautiful one of a kind Larrivee D40 Amazon Rosewood. I love it so much, I ordered another one. |

I have eight guitars and would only sell my Clapton Strat. The others are all keepers.

My Alvarez RD2012 12-String needs work. If after its repaired I don't like it I will sell it. All other guitars in my signature list are keepers.

Took a look at this thread when it reappeared on the first General page of the forum.
I was curious what I wrote back in early July. Then, I couldn't imagine letting go of one of the nine acoustics I have. Well, I have let go of one and have come to believe there are just three that I'd never let go of. And so in just over two months I've changed my mind and suspect I'll likely shift one or two guitars again. Not these three. This is, I suppose for the most part, because they are three of my four favorite guitars: a Collings OM2GSS, an OM1A and a CJ35G. But it's also because these three (of my current five Collings) were signed by Bill; and it's nice to have that trace of him around. In the month or so before he passed, he went out of his way to write congratulations on, and sign, a sound hole cut out to be included in a custom OM2G I had Collings make for my son's college graduation present. Not knowing the gravity of Bill's condition, I thought it was a very cool touch for the present. It is. But it was also a pretty remarkable gesture. |
