OK, I checked it out on my phone: the image stays... weird. That is a great looking X7, and appears noticeably larger than my previous generation X7, which I have had hanging next to my 522ce 12-fret in the past. Yours looks like the lower bout is about the same as the 322.

Love that new soundhole. Congrats again!

I agree. That would have been much clearer.

When I ordered my X7 nylon I was still looking at an old model, since the Artisan section does not show the new X7 in its nylon variety.
And while I was discussing the specs with Kevin it took me some time to realize that I was looking at the wrong guitar. So I think I may have confused him somewhat during the ordering process.

I've been very happy with my 2016 X7 & X20 and craving for more Emerald guitars.

Your new X7 is a fine-looking well designed beauty.
I really like the new sound hole design and no neck heel cutaway.

I'm sure you're very happy with this amazing guitar.

Thanks! I do see this as the beginning of many Emerald purchases. An X20, X10, Chimera... The Amicus is most likely next as I think it would give my band a unique sound for what we do.
I don't recall how I discovered Emerald guitars but I'm glad that the path led this way.

Congrats on the new X7! I'm happy to start to hear these stories from the first round of owners of the new design. As a very happy owner of a custom X20 I always said that the only way I would order another one would be if they came out with an 'in-between' size of the X7 and X20. I figured they'd even call it the X10! But the X10 turned out to not be what I envisioned. Marketed more toward the electric player the body size was right but that's about it.

However the X7's larger body size did appeal to me and so with another custom order that mimicked a lot of things from X20 (along with some new things) I basically am having Emerald build me a new custom X7. I'm going to call it an X7.5! The only thing I wasn't sure of (looks wise) is that deep cutaway. Since I never go up the fretboard much past the 5th fret I really don't need it and honestly would have preferred the old design with the new, slightly larger body but it wasn't a deal killer. And who knows? Maybe this will be the impetus to actually start using more fretboard, right?

Regardless, I'm very happy to hear you love the tone. I had an X7 of the old design and it was a fine guitar with decent tone and volume for it's diminutive size. With the slightly larger body and the slightly longer scale (custom ordered) I'm encouraged that my X7 will be a winner as well.

On my X20 I double side taped a D'Addario CT-12 tuner (minus the mounting bracket) to the back of the headstock. I doubt that the double side tape will leave a mark on the CF and it really works well there.

I hear what you're saying about the upper fret access... As a primarily electric player, I do go up there often but as an acoustic player it's rare. That said, when playing the X7 it all looks and feels normal until you venture up high and there's an open area making ease of high notes. Since the upper bout is still there, I forget that the body under the higher part of the neck just isn't there.

When I was originally looking at the X7, the appeal was that of a smaller parlor guitar that I can take with me on trips and not worry. While the new X7 still fits that bill, I'm ecstatic that it sounds big enough for me to take to gigs.

It's very small, displays red and green colors as well as the readout to indicate tune and can rotate the display so it works anywhere.
