Default Can you tell a 000 from a Dreadnought?

Tune in Tuesday on YouTube, or wherever you get your podcasts.

If you can't you should stick to playing a uke.

I've found that dreads eat more, need more exercise and can take up the whole bed if you let them sleep with ya.

I’m guessing that the more accurate question for the video comparison should really be:

Can guitars with different body sizes be manipulated to sound alike under certain conditions?

Nope. Not in this exercise, anyway. All our podcast guitars are recorded the same. No smoke & mirrors.

We’ll see! I think the point is supposed to be that no, we can’t tell the difference. Which wouldn’t be the case in person.

Blindfold in person would be best. Especially with one of Neil Young’s dreads…

Maybe for season 4 of Mystery Guitar, we can get Neil's guitars in here.

Looks like you’re just doing a single guitar rather than a comparison. I would want to hear them (dread, 000) next to each other.

Regarding Neil, when I listen to his live recordings, using a microphone at Massey Hall in 1971, I know there’s no 000 that sounds like that.

Yeah that Massey Hall tone is gorgeous and huge. Correct, today's episode of mystery guitar just asks the question & it's not a true comparison the way we often design our YT vids.

Got it. The first clip was a little hard to figure but it zeroed in after that.

Not in our current inventory, no. IIRC the D-18SS or D-28SS might have fit that bill but my memory is nothing to brag about.
