Congratulations Nemoman!

I am definitely Stehr biased, however this will no doubt be a spectacular build. While it's bitter news to hear that Joel will not be making the trek to Memphis, it's sweet that it worked out for you... (the long version of bitter-sweet!).

Besides the BRZ being mindboggling beautiful, the fact that it has served 2 different purposes after it's tree life gives it an extra coolness factor.

Congrats, Nemo.

Joel builds beautiful guitars and I love his trademark inlays. His more ornate/blingy designs are also very tastefully done.

I'm looking forward to seeing how your Auditorium turns out.

Awesome looking Braz! I have seen a number of Joels guitars and he is absolutely one of the very best I've seen. Congrats on the build. Someday maybe I'll save enough shekels to have one of his also!

Thanks Nemoman.

We might want to check with Joel because I think he used coco for the accents, not mahogany. I'm no longer 100% sure though.

Your guitar is going to be spectacular and I am eagerly following your build. Joel is a super guy and a top builder as you already know.

Thanks for all the comments guys! I'm eagerly awaiting the next steps and photos of the process. Joel is definitely a super guy to work with and a total craftsman.

Sage--I was only referring to mahogany on the neck laminations. You are correct--all of the binding and accents will be done with Coco.

I'll post more pics once I have them...thanks for checking it out!

If you want an idea of what walnut is going to look like, here's my Stehr with a 5-piece walnut neck.

Thanks dk63--I think I've seen your guitar on Joel's website. Beautiful Malaysian! The walnut really makes a striking neck...

Just got off of the phone with Joel finalizing the last details of the build--so now I'm super excited!

Also wanted to let the AGF community know that Joel still has 2 guitars available that he was building for the Memphis show.
One of them is a Small Jumbo model with Gabon/Ebony (almost black) back and sides and a dark sinker redwood top with edgeburst and floretine cutaway.
The other one is a 00-12-fret model with Oregon Myrtle back and sides and a Carpathian top.
I haven't seen pics of either of them, but I can only imagine that they are Joel's typical tone monsters as well as visual works of art.
Joel didn't ask me to post this, and there's no financial affiliation on my part--just a shout out that if anybody's interested, they should give Joel a call and avoid a 2-year wait!

Now back to counting the days until the next batch of pics arrives!

I'm a little late to the party, but I think you already know I'm a big Stehr fan. My dread sounds more and more awesome. About the only thing I would ever trade it for...and I really can't afford to own more than one, would be that Ebony/Sinker model he's got. I have to reach out and ask for pictures of that baby.

Anyway, you will absolutely love the guitar, and working with Joel is an absolute joy. Looking forward to watching this progress.

I think it's calling to you, Mike! Joel really does magic with his edgebursts on the sinker...

I'd have to sell the dread, and that would be a tough call!! Or I'd have to sell an all-hog Eastman and 5 electrics. In short, I'd have to sell something big because I simply cannot buy another guitar without a few leaving first. But that guitar is really right up my alley.

However, let's focus on yours!! When do we see some pictures??!!
