This Cuban Mahogany came from the Big Island in Hawaii. It was a survivor of the 1946 tsunami that hit Hilo Bay. Now, thru you, this wood can continue to express itself!

Specs: Cuban Mahogany Back/Sides; Sitka Spruce Top; Brazilian Ebony Binding; Walnut/Abalone Rosette; Brazilian Ebony SoundPort; Walnut Charis "C" Logo; Mahogany/Maple/Rosewood/Maple/Mahogany 5-pc Neck; 6 mm MOP Dots Fingerboard Markers; Ebony Heelcap; Charis Custom Gold Gotoh 510 Tuners; Clear Pick-guard; Comes in a standard Guardian Case.

Standard Scale Length: 25.6” (14 frets to body); Nut Width 1 3/4 inch; Saddle Spacing 2 1/4 inch.

Standard Body Depth: 4.375 at end block & 3.875 at the heel

This instrument has a clear/clean tone with a nice mix of overtones. The Sitka Spruce top driving the Mahogany body has that nice woody tone that sustains forever!

Here they are cutting the tree. You can see that it was covered by what’s called a “strangler fig” that will eventually kill the host tree. This Mahogany tree was cut down from one of the overgrown lots, along where the train use to run.
