Default Original Tune: The Isolation Waltz

Here is a little video for the title track of my recent album, The Isolation Waltz.

I don't write a ton of tunes, but I wanted to try and come up with a few for this release. This is was written while I was recording the album at home during 2020, trying to capture my feelings of that year so far.

I'm playing my spruce/rosewood OM by Fabrizio Alberico, and using a pair of Gefell M300 mics, setup in ORTF. I am in CGDGCD tuning.

Nice recording sound and playing. Composition wise I like the development of melodic variety in this one.
Do you think your composition choices have been expanding and changing over the last few years?

Thanks Rick. Yea I think I have been branching out a bit over the past few years. I still love arranging the celtic stuff, and I think that will always be my home base. Hearing other players like Steve Baughman compose tunes in a traditional-esque fashion made me want to try writing my own stuff.

I've also been taking David Hamburger's Fretboard Confidential Blues class, and learning to how play fingerstyle blues in standard tuning. Its been great fun, I'll to post some of those videos sometime.

Lovely tune and really well played and recorded as always - I’d love to hear a little more clarity / attack in the bass notes but that may just be me..

Very lovely, Anton!! Really enjoyed your composition.
I played the clip the other day and then went out to mow the lawn.....couldn't get your tune out of my head! The mark of a good song, I'd say!!!

Thanks! That means alot, glad you liked the tune.

I appreciate the feedback Wrighty. Ill make note of that next time im recording. Ill also noticed the stereo balance pull to the left a bit. I need to work on my mic placement some more
