Edit; the pickups are ok, but could definitely do with an outboard pre-amp for tone shaping.
I always run through Baggs Session Di so it should be fine. I’ve kept the elixirs on whilst everything settles down. I’ve got a gig on Saturday night I’ll probably take it along and put it through the speakers.

Got a LL 16-D and a LL 56 custom. I love them both, but they sound absolutely nothing alike. They sound so different that one would think they are different brands all together.

I had an LL26 and LL16 at the same time; they sounded different from each other but both sounded like Yamaha guitars-just like a D-28 and D-40 will usually both sound like Martins.

Changed a broken string on my ls 11 and loosened the others and changed the battery for the pick up. Played it through my piano amp--no effects and wow . Best side by side sound of all my pick up acoustics costing 3x.

Hi there. Are Yamaha guitars that are Made in Japan way better than those Made in China (like the LS16)? Just curious. Thanks!

Yep I've had an LL26 as well and had the same experience. The LL56 however is a different beast...
