Default Adding a rosette circle

Maybe add a rosette ring?

I could alter the top in a couple ways if it wouldn't subtract from the value of the guitar too much.

I haven't played or examined all that many Kalamazoo guitars in person, and have never owned one. But if that's a rosette style used for Kalamazoos then that's a much more likely origin for it than my highly attenuated "maybe somebody got a top from the sale when Harmony shut down and then put it on the guitar" theory.

I'd go so far to say it's infinitely more likely....

It's an oddball guitar, though, however it came together.

Cherish it. It's almost certainly one of a kind.

Thanks Wade! I was in the market for a J45 when my friend showed me this one. I have a soft spot in my heart for items from the land of forgotten guitars!

I concur that the overall result of the work done is somewhat inharmonious. Totally cool, though!

It's unique and pretty cool. I would leave it just the way it is if it were me.
