I've never been one for abalone, but I have to agree with Jon. It's gorgeous, Mark: just the right amount of bling to accent the woods without overpowering them. I particularly like how the blue paua contrasts with the warm hues of the soundboard and neck.

Thank ukejon, I like the color of the torrified Maple and how it seems to help bring out the figure. Quote:

That’s a very cool picture !
Even in b&w (or desaturated) there is no doubt about the b&s wood |

Here are some of the other stats and features: Florentine cut-away Body wedge Open headstock 13 fret to the body Arm bevel Cut-away bevel 1 3/4" nut 2 5/16ths string space at the saddle 25" string scale length I start by joining the back: Thanks for viewing! Another fantastic set of woods to begin with, Mark. That Sitka looks amazing and the mahogany--well, it's the Tree! Enough said!
I'll be following along for sure...

That Sitka set is gorgeous...the color is such I’d have believed it to be redwood or cedar if you hadn’t said. And that back...the tree has given us some really amazing sets, hasn’t it? Stunning!

I agree the Tree sets are amazing. I've built a number of guitars with this beautiful wood and I still have to keep it out of my range sight when I am working on something else so it doesn't distract me! Thanks for commenting Treenewt This past Tuesday night we had a tropical storm come through and it knocked out our power for 24 hours. Yesterday, I was out getting ice, propane, and picking up fallen branches. However, I was able to get some work done in the shop. Since most of my work on guitars is handwork I only had to roll my work table closer to the window for light. I joined the top set: The back was already on the go-bar deck waiting with the center back graft in place: I cleaned that up: The power came back on about 8:30pm last night. When I think about it, it was nice working in an unpowered shop. I find the longer I work making guitars, the more I move to the right hand tools and become proficient using them. The day will come when I take my shop off the grid. I find the less power I have between myself and my work, the closer I am to it. Thanks for following along, Mark
