Default The Windmills of Your Mind - Michel Legrand

Here is my latest arrangement, a solo guitar rendition of "The Windmills of Your Mind" by the great French composer Michel Legrand! Hope you enjoy it.

Alors là, je m'incline.
Bien bas.

(d'abord, Michel Legrand.

Mind blown! Words fail me. A joy to listen to - an original and even profound statement. Favorited. Wish I could say it in French!

Fantastic! And LeGrand was truly grand!

A question: Why do you capo this? Do you find the intonation better when capo'd? I find that to be the case on my classical.

Je n'avais même pas remarqué le capo... Ah folles années de ma jeunesse.

The capo is an old 70's Dunlop model.
I even remember having replaced the broken nylon strap on one by a piece of leather. Must be buried somewhere in a drawer.

I think I still have one lying around somewhere. I use a Shubb on my classical and while it's good, I still get buzzing on the bass strings. Maybe I'll hunt for the old one and give it a go.

I am so sorry, I do not speak French, but via the translator -- thank you for your high assessment. What do you mean by more sophisticated recording?

Wow, thank you! I really enjoyed creating this arrangement, particularly its contour, with an understated initial theme followed by increasing escalation until a somewhat sudden apex at around 2:57 where everything gets taken back down to the original feeling...

He truly was! I used a capo actually because I was recently listening to the lovely version of this piece by Richard Galliano, Jan Lundgren, and Paolo Fresu, and their arrangement was in this key! I thought it suited the piece very well.
