Default can you recommend a great finisher?

I may need some help and would really appreciate a solid recommendation or 2 of finishers that know how to handle high-end custom guitars. I can french polish my guitars, but I out-source when it comes to those wanting UV poly or Nitro. My current finisher, who is absolutely fantastic, is unfortunately battling cancer. His outlook is very promising which we are all thankful for, but we are just not sure how soon he can get back to work. it may be months and I have some guitars ready for finish now, so I am looking for some help in the short term.

do any of you know of a good finisher willing to take on a new client?

Thanks for any help you can offer. I live in the Seattle area, so any one reasonably close to me would be desirable.

I was going to mention Rob, but wasn't sure about getting stuff back and forth across the border.

Brian Howard--howardguitarsdelaware.com. The finish repair work he's done for me in the past has been nothing short of spectacular. I think Brian knows more about various finishes than just about anyone I've run into; I've read several articles he has written on the subject of guitar finishing. He truly knows his stuff, an expert's expert.

The usual suspects:
  • Chris Bavaria (Maryland), Rob Bustos (British Columbia), Tony Fergusson (Michigan) and Addam Stark (California)

Thanks, Rob is who I use and Rob is battling cancer. Again, the outlook is very positive, I love Rob's work and he is a good friend. I have a scheduled phone call with him tomorrow and I can give some updates here. He is in good spirits and doing well. He'll have chemo through December, but they hope to wipe it all out by then. He has been so great to work with and I plan to send my work to him again, once he fully recovers. and that is our hope, a full recovery

Thanks for the other recommendations as well. I appreciate it.

Matt Eady is a great finisher, but not that close to Seattle.

Just wanted to post a quick update regarding Rob of Vancouver Guitar Finishing. I had a great talk with him this morning and he is doing extremely well. He says he'll be done with chemo in Dec with a very positive outlook from there. so good to hear. I am taking 3 guitars up to him Sunday and picking one up from his as well. with the good news, I will be able to keep using Rob as my finisher and I am so very happy for him and for me! He does an amazing job finishing my guitars.

Thanks for all your help.

Smile Great news

We all are rooting for a complete and rapid recovery, I am sure.
