Analysis Paralysis and Modeling
Looking around I've noticed that many of my friends are struggling with getting started on modeling because of all the choices available. Being that I am on my third generation of modeling I thought I might be able to help a bit so I wrote up some suggestions to help people get past that phase. The article is HERE on my website. Bob

Bob's write up makes a good point: just because something can a great many things doesn't mean you need to use it for that.
On my older Mustang III I have three or four patches I use sometimes, but I use one patch on it (a Princeton model) 80-90% of the time. I spend more time getting the "right" sound out of a Mesa Boogie than I do with the Mustang. Turn it on, goes to that Princeton patch I've set as its default, establish volume level. Done. Similarly, with my DAW I have templates I've setup for various recording situations, and some go-to effects chains/synth/VI patches. It so much faster than the old tweak the knobs and re-patch outboard device workflows for me.

Nice article. My only comment about is that white text on the black back ground O.o
I admit I was paralyzed a long time ago, I still stick a mic in front of an amp and call it a day. |

Good advice. I haven't had enough time to really dig into my Helix LT. I may have some time off next month, so maybe I'll get a chance to immerse myself a little bit.
