Default NGD: Fender Player Telecaster Burgundy Mist

Walked into GC today to pick up a used Classic Vibe Tele and as soon as I walk in I see this. A GC exclusive finish in Burgundy Mist. I just had to have it. I don’t care what others might say about the color it reminds me of a 60’s Cadillac. I’m sure the Squier is great Tele but this one was just pure guitar lust.

Thanks. None of the colors in the new Player series was getting me excited enough to buy and I was hoping to see something new. And lo and behold.

Very nice! Love the color. And as a “car guy” I can see what you’re referencing.

I loved my Blackguard Players Series. Fender got it right with this new model. 22 frets, alnico V pickups, CTS POTS (totally unusual for Fender). Tremendous guitars all the way around. Having owned more guitars than I can recall, I see no reason to buy a new US made Fender.

The only reason that I moved mine on is I’d bought a J-45 standard, and had been attempting to downsize. That being said, the new Players Series Teles are phenomenal, and if I were in the market for a Tele I’d have no qualms about purchasing another.

Congrats! Enjoy that fine guitar.

PTony,

Whenever you're giving up a guitar to get a new one always trade up. You certainly did with a J45. Enjoy a true classic you'll cherish til you can't play no more. And yeah the butterscotch was the only one I was considering if they didn't come out with anything different soon.. I'll never get tired of looking at a blackguard Tele.

It's beautiful and I love the colour. (Might be the first Telecaster I've seen in Burgundy Mist).

Bet it sounds as good as it looks also!

Nice looking Butterscotch Telecaster. I'm certain that whoever bought it is really pleased with it, especially the great setup....

I can’t get enough of this bridge pickup. After all this time trying to get my Les Pauls to sound twangy and snappy (they’re passable) you gotta go to the real thing. The reviewers were right even the neck pick up is real nice. Fender did a fantastic job with the new Player over the old Standard. I had a MIM Standard and the new Professional Model Stratocaster as well and I like this Player Tele even more.

Cons: Fret ends are a bit sharp. Should have been polished better even for a MIM. String tree was screwed in a bit crooked. Otherwise everything else is A Ok.
Overdrive and high gain is good. Definately better at getting down and dirty than a Strat. But I’ll leave all the banshee out of hell tones to my Les Pauls. Didnt get it for that reason anyways.

If they do an SS model in silver I’d get another Player Tele. So yeah I totally dig it!

I’m sure you...I mean...errr...they are .

It was/is a great guitar! So happy you are pleased with the setup. After owning more guitars than I can recall I figured I’d better learn how to do my own work.
