Default Celebrity Dopplegangers????

Was watching reruns of Dexter on the heels of Season 7 of Homeland and confused Tony Amendola and F. Murray Abraham. Let's see some others....

James Mercer of the Shins and Kevin Spacey:

Not very good for James now though.

Rick Adelman and Gene Hackman:

By the way, I was Googling images for Hackman and Adelman and found my own post... from the AGF, in this thread:

Probably not known outside the UK but one of the dancers on Strictly (Dancing with the stars) is called Anton Du Becke. He's become a bit of a celebrity over here. When he's not dancing he plays Woody in Toy Story.

I am no celebrity. Not even in my own head.
But years ago I went to get a haircut and the lady handed me a clipboard to sign in.
The next name in line was my first name.
Printed in all caps. Just like I do.
I would swear it was my writing.
Everything exactly as if I had already signed in.
Kept waiting for the name to be called...

Freaked out my wife at the time too.
She mentioned doppelgangers, I had never heard the word before.

Years ago I thought Sean Payton and Kenny Chesney looked like brothers/similar. Very long years ago Ysar Arafat and Ringo could look alike. Not so much today.

When I first moved to the Twin Cities, there was a front page story of a bank robbery, with the security camera photo of the guy. He looked just like me (or me like him). It seemed everybody at work had that paper and it took some time for that to die down.

This sounds like the report of a robbery in my home town here in the UK last September.

I don't follow celebrities or watch TV or movies very much, so I cannot play.

But back in college, my then-girlfriend walked up behind a fellow, grabbed a handful of buns and then put her arm around him..... only then realizing (too late) that it wasn't me. She pointed him out on campus later and from behind the mistake was understandable - similar build, similar height and the same hair color.

That is really both funny and timely. I never saw Friends series until my wife bought the box set of DVDs used cheap, and now we have been watching some of them together.

Maybe there are only so many body shapes and facial features to go around, so they have to be reused from time to time.
