I think a guitar with a stiff and hard back projects the sound more and a lighter guitar radiates the sound more. So, they are different for players and listeners. Maybe.

Out of interest which do you prefer?
My hog H&D DS is definitely lighter than my Collings 000 although I’ve never properly weighed them to see by how much. Obviously comparing output volume is not really worth it due to the different body shape.

This makes sense. The Collings definitely feels more like the back is reflecting the sound with less feel through the back. On the H&D you feel every note through the back.
