Bridge string spacing for Strat
Looking for a Stratocaster tremolo bridge that will go with my 43 mm neck nut. Would this work? This my first attempt to install one--

Forget the nut width. It really has nothing to do with the other end. What model Strat do you own? If it has a common 6 point (6 screws) unit it should drop in. I will assume that it already has a typical Stratocaster tremolo, because if it's a hard tail you're going to have a hard time. Howard Emerson

As someone going through the same process right now, there are 2 things to consider.
Screw hole spacing (if they're predrilled) and the string spacing you want at the bridge. From what I can gather older strats had approximately 56mm string spacing and bridge screw spacing, import Squiers had 52mm screw and string spacing and some others had 54mm. There is a Wilkinson bridge which has screw holes which are slightly elongated so can fit a variety of predrilled screw holes. |

Gonna have to drill the 6 holes and line it up correctly, I have never done this and am going to need help so I don't screw it up-bought a GFS tremolo bridge

Strats can have different screw spacing at the tremolo. It's a pain but you need to know what spacing you have before ordering replacement parts. Any chance you can exchange your GFS bridge for one with the proper spacing?
