Thanks Jim!
So continuing on...after putting the findings on and scraping them flush to the sides, we then fit the bridge and the neck. This allows us to prep the body for the finish application. When we get everything put together, we take a step back and make sure everything is lining up properly. We then tape off the areas for the bridge and under the fretboard extension. This will allow us to easily pull the finish off of these areas after all the lacquer is applied. We will then glue the bridge and fretboard straight wood to wood. And a couple other shots in the white...even though there is not much white on this guitar. Thanks for following along! |

This should be a real sweetheart, nice work! I especially like the double white side purfling. looks great with the double white rosette rings. I am anxious to hear a sound clip of this one when done.

Thanks Travis. With dark sides we like to use the two white purflings to offset the dark bindings. With the dark top, it also makes the rosette pop. Glad you like it.

From what I have seen around the AGF, Tony has been a busy man lately. We're getting this guy back Thursday.
I just realized I haven't shown any shots of the neck yet. It's finished and ready to put on the body next week. Thanks for watching. |

Elegant! Really like how the elements on the body tie together.

That's a fine looking guitar. If it goes to SB I'll be proud to be seen with it.

Tony is indeed busy, and does wonderful work. In a sense I feel bad for him... he gets to see all these beauties glossed up, but doesn't get to play any of them.

This guitar is getting put together this week so I thought I would include a few more shots. The first one is of the peghead somewhere in the finishing process. We used offcuts of the back and sides for the peghead and bound with Ebony.
Then Steve wet sands it level. One starts to see some of the depth to the rosewood. Next a shot of the Macassar Ebony bridge bring fit to the body. More to come |

Going to start the setup process today, but here's some pics of gluing it all together.
Attaching the neck. We use a bolt on system with a fixed fretboard. Then we get a good joint on the bridge. And I thought I would include a shot of my new friend. Extra points if you know the name. Thanks. |

Like Ryan said, this thread is about our shop's production this year, so allow me to interrupt the progress of the Redwood/Indian FS. I'd like to share a few pics of the next parlor coming down the line. It boasts an ebony body, and an Italian spruce top. Also, we're using a marquetry pattern developed for this guitar.
It uses maple, Spanish cedar, black and ice blue veneers. Under construction: Completed, but still fuzzy: Leveled and scraped clean: Thanks for watching! |
