Beautiful Eastman! Those are fine guitars, and let's face it way under-rated here even with all the Eastman fans. The only guitar I regret trading out was the bigger brother of yours, the E20D. I will for sure get another one ... top notch workmanship too.

Well then, I think we have our work cut out for us. The aged Adi tops make the argument a little easier for us.

I'd been searching high and low for a 00 slothead with a wider nut for awhile. I had tried many high-end makes and some low-end ones too. I was hearing some great things about the Eastman parlors and noticed that they had come out with a 00 version with pretty much the same specs (some a little nicer). The only place that sold them locally was LA Guitar sales. About a week ago, I saw that they had 4 in stock...well, today they were down to one, so I took my first trek over to check it out.

So I got there, picked up the Eastman, and started jammin'. After a long period of being impressed, I started testing out comparable higher end models from all of the usual suspects. No matter what, I kept coming back to the Eastman. I texted my gf to tell her how excited I was of my find. After about an hour and half, I turned to the shopkeepers and said this is the one, but needed to check with my better half before adding to the guitar family. The woman goes, "Oh, you mean Natalie (my gf)? Yeah, she just called and bought the guitar for you. Merry Christmas!"

Now, onto the guitar. Wow, everything about this guitar is impressive. It has a very deep resonant bass response and sustain for days...weeks even. However, it also responds very quickly and clearly to my meaty fingers. The adirondack top and light build is fantastic. The neck is thick with a relatively flat fingerboard which makes fingerstyle a breeze. This is my first 12 fret to body, and it definitely won't be my last.

Note: Ted wasn't present today at LA Guitar Sales, but Pierre and Tevis were fantastic and great at investigating all of my ridiculous questions. Very sweet people. The showroom itself is guitar heaven, and all of the BTO Taylors and Martins are amazing.

And now, some guitar porn...

Now i know this thread is over 2 years old but i was wondering if you still have this guitar? And if you do, do you still feel the same way about it? No problem if you don't want to respond. Ran across your post when viewing images of the E20 00 on google. Just trying to relieve some gas stress i was feeling. Not much relief until i saw your photos. Liked how your story turned out.

2nd from the left. Still love it! In fact, one of my cats knocked it over once, but luckily it landed on the tuners. The fall bent the tuners, so naturally I had to apologize by throwing some white Waverly tuners on her. She forgave me

I really wanted one of these E2000s. I was gutted when Eastman downgraded the nut to 1 3/4". Still enjoying my BR341, and maybe oneday one of the 1 13/16" nut models will come my way.

I have the same Eastman and I can tell you the build quality is absolutely four stars. I will also attest to the sound and sustain...remarkable.
Congrats on your new Eastman!!!!!!!!!!!!!

At the time of this thread, I wanted one of these but had yet to get one.
Shortly after, I did get a chance to get one and it is a great guitar. It has a huge sound for such a small guitar. I've played similar size guitars by big name brands that sounded small and boxy. I really wasn't expecting how full and resonant this guitar would be. The store I bought it from also had the Eastman E20-OO-SS, the sloped shouldered version of this guitar with the normal Eastman nut width and the thinner neck. That one was small and boxy sounding and definitely not even close to as resonant. I don't know if maybe that one was a dud or if that's how the OO-SS sounds. The neck on my E20-OO is a big beefy, chunky neck with 1-13/16 nut. Perhaps the huge neck contributes to the great sound this thing has.

Mr. Fret-O'-File, If you ever grow tired of that neck, please let me know as i will take it off your hands and give it a good home.
