Default Nuthatch Winter--Slack Key Original

Been learning a little slack key, and I put together this simple little tune inspired by watching the nuthatches scurry up and down the big spruce in the backyard. A few rough spots, but this was the best take out of a couple of tries. Had fun learning how to edit multicam with Final Cut Pro X and hope to experiment with that some more!

That's a nice little piece... and a nice tribute to a darling little bird. I have three different types here in the winter and two in the summer.

Very well done. Good audio. You're just learning slack key? I think you're doing quite well.

Thanks kerbie. I took a class last August at a guitar camp from Anela Kahiamoe and have been trying to keep it going lest I forget everything he showed me!

Sorry--slack key tunings are highly guarded secrets....! Just kidding (although apparently that was at one time true!) This is in whats called Taro Patch tuning, which is I believe a version of G-Major.

Anela is quite a sweetheart, isn't he? And a terrific player and singer as well. I didn't even know he played slack.

Yes--Anela was very cool to be around and is quite a versatile player!

Fran--I've enjoyed listening and watching several of the vids on your YouTube Channel. You playing is awesome and you have certainly had the chance to play with some of the living greats of slack key!
