I am a small guitar person ... and that looks fantastic!

Thanks to everyone. It really is a great player and a good looker as well. I’ve had other parlors but didn’t ever bond with them but this one is a keeper.

What a cool little guitar! I had no idea they were even made. I've often admired the SJ200's but considered them too large for me practically speaking. Now you've gotten me thinking. Uh-oh....enjoy it!

Most parlors don't come with a pick guard because they don't supply the headroom to be strummed. How does this gorgeous guitar sound strummed?

Yeah, but this is an SJ200 and they always seem to have big, gaudy pick guards as part of their charm.

It has a good sound when strummed. I’m not really a finger picker anyway. I can’t comment on headroom as I don’t understand it on an acoustic, but there is good bass and good volume. Actually the sound is more pleasing to me than my Martin 000-15.

Oh, and my L-00 has a pick guard too.

Is this a new model? I’ve never even heard of it. I thought the next one down was a J-185. Would love to see a shoot out between a J and the parlor. I love my J-200, it is a rhythm machine. So I’m really curious how the size would affect the tone and playability.

Congrats on the new Gibson!

Congrats, I recently got a Rosewood back and sides J165 that I really like. I believe dimensions are the same but I don't have that big ol' cool pickguard on me one..

It's a Chicago Music Exchange exclusive. They say the guitars were made for the Japanese market originally. The label inside says SJ-200 Parlor and the truss rod cover says Limited, so I'm not exactly sure where that leaves things.

This one doesn't have the deep bass grunt of a full sized SJ-200. It has it's own voice though and I really like it. Playability to me is better since my shoulders no longer like dreds or larger.
