Sold: Collings CJ Sunburst
Purchased this Collings CJ NOS from Custom Shop Guitars in San Antonio December 2018. I believe she’s a 2016 model. Excellent condition.
Here’s info/specs from Collings: The Collings Jumbo, or CJ, is Collings version of the classic slope-shouldered dreadnought, a shape that has enjoyed renewed popularity in recent years. While the CJ is similar in width and depth to the traditional dreadnought, it has a distinctly different tone. Despite its large size this model works well with the shorter string scale, resulting in a somewhat percussive bottom end ideal for acoustic blues or other styles that benefit from a more controlled bass response. Here’s a review from Custom Shop Guitars on the Collings CJ:
The Collings Jumbo, or CJ, is Collings' version of the classic slope-shouldered dreadnought, a shape that has enjoyed renewed popularity in recent years. While the CJ is similar in width and depth to the traditional dreadnought, it has a distinctly different tone. Many people just assume that it's a "re-do" of the old Gibson J45 "Slope Shoulder". Visually yes, it is similar to the old Gibson model. But that's pretty much where everything comes to a screeching halt. First and foremost, the Collings CJ's differentiate themselves from the old J45 with a totally different bracing system. Not to mention, that all CJ's have scalloped bracing unless special ordered without. So what? Well, this equates to is a very balanced sound that takes out the "Boomyness" that the old J45 is known for. Typically, the Collings CJ has a very, very balanced tone. No muddy bottom - No tinny highs. Again, just a great fully balanced tone. |

I have dealt with the OP and the axe I received was at least as nice as described and shipped well and fast. Best on this Paul
